Mārōnāyā is a spiritual companion app available in both free and paid subscription tiers. We collect only what we need to make the app work well for you. We do not sell your data, and we do not show you advertisements.

Mārōnāyā ("we", "us", "our") is a Maronite Catholic spiritual companion application. The app is available in a free tier and paid subscription plans, with the aim of making the Maronite liturgical tradition accessible to the global diaspora.

Anonymous use

You can use Mārōnāyā without creating an account. In this case, no personally identifying information is collected. Your prayer routine and preferences will not be saved across devices.

Subscriptions and payments

If you purchase a subscription, payment processing is handled entirely by our third-party payment provider. We do not store your payment card details on our servers.

How we store and protect your data

Your account data is stored using Supabase, a secure cloud database platform with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is deleted within 30 days. Anonymised usage statistics may be retained in aggregate form.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

Notifications and communications

If you enable app notifications, we will send you daily prayer reminders and routine nudges at times you choose in your settings. You can turn these off at any time in the app or in your device settings.

If you subscribe to email updates, we will send you information about new content, seasonal programs, and community news. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.

Children's privacy

Mārōnāyā is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We welcome family use of the app. Parents and guardians are encouraged to use the app alongside children and to manage any account created for family use.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the app develops. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent update.

Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
